On the anniversary of a Viennese institution<\/span><\/h2>[vc_column_text css=””]Looking back on a 40-year history, the LMC Vienna is today one of the oldest continuously existing clubs in the Viennese community. Fortunately, an extensive collection of documents, posters and event programs has also been preserved, with which the history of the LMC can also be vividly presented in an exhibition. <\/p>\n

Many materials are stored in a separate collection, the LMC Vienna archive, in the Qwien archive and are therefore available for research as well as for exhibitions. For the current presentation, however, we could also draw on the extensive collection of Sepp Engelmaier (better known to many as Sepp of Vienna), past board members and current members of the association. <\/p>\n

Since its foundation, the association’s activities have been based on three pillars:<\/p>\n

– L = Leather: the preference for the common fetish, initially primarily leather, but today the fetish concept has expanded considerably.<\/p>\n

– M = Motorbike: the joint motorcycle tours and often multi-day excursions by bike through Austria and neighboring countries<\/p>\n

– C = Community: cohesion as a community, which was particularly evident during the AIDS crisis with homemade prevention materials or the annual Christmas cookie campaign.<\/p>\n

The club has run two venues in its long history: the legendary [lo:sch] and today the HARD ON, which offers many opportunities for an active club life. The annual major event “Vienna in Black”, which is perhaps one of the most popular fetish events in Europe due to its familiarity, and the regular program tailored to different fetish preferences are evidence of an active club life even today. <\/p>\n
