Overview<\/span><\/h2>[vc_column_text css=””]In a relaxed atmosphere over coffee and cake, political scientist Michael Hunklinger will address a heavyweight topic: How can we as a community respond to the shift to the right in society and the discussions about the rights we have fought for? He will be reading from his latest book “Wir werden nicht verschwinden. How minorities are defying the shift to the right”.<\/p>\n

Hunklinger analysiert darin, wie rechte Parteien und Organisationen an einer autorit\u00e4ren Wende arbeiten und dabei vor allem Minderheiten im Fokus haben. Dabei werden Personen, die sich als queer oder insbesondere trans* identifizieren besonders heftig angegriffen.<\/p>\n

The reading will be followed by a discussion with Julian Wiehl. The publisher of “Vangardist Magazine” will be one of the initiators of the Queer Alliance on the podium this afternoon and will discuss with Michael Hunklinger what concrete measures we can take in the community to counter the social shift to the right.<\/p>\n

He teaches at the Danube University Krems. In addition to lectures at universities in Germany, the USA and the Netherlands, numerous scientific publications. His essay “Pride” was published by Kremayr & Scheriau in 2024.<\/p>\n

He is also committed to more intensive networking within the queer community. He is co-founder of Queer Media Literacy, which strives for a more intensive exchange between the queer community and Austrian media. And he is one of the initiators of the “Queer Alliance” group, which aims to develop concrete plans for how we as a community can counter the social shift to the right.<\/p>\n
