As an independent research institution, we also rely on volunteers! If you have time and are interested in queer history, we have many exciting tasks for you:

• Sort and record stocks
• Digitize magazines and other material
• We are also looking for people who are familiar with audio and video technology and can support us in the digitization of media.

We are also looking for people (students but also retired people) to support us in reception at the Welcome Desk on an hourly or half-day basis. If you are interested, you can also get a taste of archive work.

There is a lot to do! We look forward to helping hands and your personal input in order to preserve queer history and ultimately make it available to interested parties, pupils and students.

As part of an internship at Qwien, you can get to know the working methods of a research institution that comes from the community! And you can also pursue your own research and interests in our library and archive.

You could be involved in the following tasks:

• Working with our library and archive software FAUST 9, which is used by many small and medium-sized archives.
• Assistance with research projects
• Initial inspection and organization of archive holdings
• Carry out measures to protect the existing situation and secure the contents
• Packing original fonds in archive boxes for long-term storage
• Labeling archive materials and their packaging according to specified classification criteria
• Magazine work
• Digitization of holdings, magazines, photos, audio and video

Unfortunately, the internship is unpaid. However, internships at Qwien can often be credited as compulsory internships during your studies. The extent is flexible, start: immediately.
