Queer Art Prize 2026
Qwien is presenting the 9 nominated artists of the Queer Art Prize 2026 supported by Almdudler and Radatz as part of the festival “Synergien der Solidarität” (Synergies of Solidarity), bringing greater visibility to queer art and the queer community in Vienna.
“Synergien der Solidarität” (Synergies of Solidarity) is a queer art and community festival running from 20 May to 5 September 2026, with a trans-institutional approach, organised by the non-profit association Queer Art Spaces Vienna (QASV). The festival comprises 4 exhibitions at Kunsthalle Exnergasse (9th district), Schlumberger Art Floor (19th district), Qwien (5th district), and (+) Verein plus (11th district), as well as additional collaboration events. Its aim is to make queer art and culture visible across Vienna, to open spaces for dialogue beyond the mainstream, and to strengthen lasting connections within Vienna’s art and cultural landscape. At its centre is an engagement with contemporary queer art and culture as a socially transformative practice that addresses solidarity, intersectionality, and collective responsibility.
