Privacy? No privacy Documentation, still life and (self-)staging have been central themes in Schwaighofer’s artistic work for more than three decades. A constantly growing oeuvre, which has also become an impressive archive, forms the source for the photographic works that will be shown at Qwien from June 17. Christiane Erharter, curator at Belvedere 21, spoke at the opening on June 17.
In this country, feminism often appears to be limited to academic or subcultural discourses, social work or neoliberal self-expression. Yet capitalist patriarchy determines the lives of women, queers and racialized people all over the world. A feminism that wants to change these conditions must therefore think and act transnationally.
