30 Years of Rainbow Parade – 1 Year of Qwien

Thirty years ago, Andreas Brunner and Hannes Sulzenbacher set a powerful signal for queer life in Austria with the first Rainbow Parade in Vienna. Exactly one year after the opening of Qwien, the first queer museum and cultural centre, we celebrate both anniversaries together – colourful, visible, and with great joy.

In cooperation with Österreichische Post AG and Vienna Pride, we present the first edition of the special stamp “30 Years of Rainbow Parade” – a vibrant symbol of history, diversity, and community.

From 4 pm, a special post office on site will issue the new stamp along with a first-day cancellation.

At 6 pm, the official presentation begins – with welcome remarks and moderation by Patricia Konrath (Product Management Blockchain, Ö. Post AG) and Harriet Leischko (Qwien).

Greetings will be offered by:

Michael Luxenberger (District Head, Margareten) Ina Pölzl (Secretary General, HOSI Wien) Sabine Weber-Treiber (Diversity Management, Ö. Post AG) Hannes Sulzenbacher (Qwien)

Patricia Konrath will then present the new special stamp and speak about its creation, the background, and the launch of the new “Diversity” series.

We close with an informal get-together – a moment to look back and look ahead.
