SYNERGIES OF SOLIDARITY Exhibition | Queer Art Prize 2026 – the Nominated Artists 27 May – 14 June 2026 | Qwien– Centre for Queer History

As part of the festival “Synergies of Solidarity”, Qwien presents works by the nine nominated artists of the Queer Art Prize 2026, supported by Almdudler and Radatz: Offerus Ablinger, Julia Belova, Julia Fuchs, Lena Rosa Händle, June (Hwajung Kim), Dejan Kaludjerović, Otto Krause, Michael Rutz, and Valentino Skarwan. Julia Fuchs was selected as the winner; Michael Rutz and Valentino Skarwan received the 2nd Runner-up awards. Prize money totalling €2,000 was awarded by QASV.

“Synergies of Solidarity” is a queer art and community festival organised by the non-profit association Queer Art Spaces Vienna (QASV), running from 20 May to 5 September 2026 across four venues in Vienna: Kunsthalle Exnergasse (9th district), Schlumberger Art Floor (19th district), QWIEN (5th district), and (+) Verein plus (11th district). With a trans-institutional approach, the festival opens spaces for dialogue beyond the mainstream and builds lasting connections within Vienna’s art and culture landscape. At its centre is contemporary queer art as a practice with real social impact – and the questions it raises about solidarity, intersectionality, and collective responsibility.
