Overview
People who stand up for other minorities at risk do not fit into any mold. Radical faeries are often such people. They do not want to be assimilated, assimilated and harnessed to a political cart. They explore the spiritual essence of our queer existence and push for open, safe spaces for all. Faeries ask what significance queer people have for humanity. And they answer: “We have a story and we have a role to play in it. We are what we do and we can do great things. All we have to take off are our chains.” Faeries have an enchanting worldwide network and can never be wiped out. If necessary, they can disappear and reappear at any time.
Some Faeries are doing pioneering work in bringing queer (fairy) spirit to Austria and its eastern neighbors.
One of these pioneers in Austria, Gunny Catell aka “Mata Hari”, will present his brand new book “Radical Faeries: Queer Pioneers” and complement it with short readings from various other of his books about Radical Faeries over coffee and cake.
