Queering Customs

Overview

Customs already say it: people need something, at a certain time.
And what we need changes.
Do we really still need this conservative, binary thinking in customs?
How can we break through the supposed “naturalness” of binarity and power in customs?
How can we open up traditions, reassemble them, animate them differently?

Hannah Maria Wimmer shares insights and approaches from her artistic-research practice, in which folk dance and crafts are combined with queer-theoretical perspectives.
