Experience the Möbelmuseum Wien differently!
On the occasion of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Qwien – Centre for Queer Culture and History – invites you to a special guided tour: “Queering Möbelmuseum Wien” takes you on a queer journey of discovery through five centuries of interior culture.
Furniture tells stories – but whose stories? The Möbelmuseum’s collection reflects a world that took heteronormativity and strictly binary gender roles for granted. Our tour turns this around: we claim these spaces, reframe their narratives, and open up non-heteronormative perspectives. A queer counter-narrative is possible – even where it is not visible in the objects themselves.
